MEDIA RELEASE /
Brentwood Festival rebrands as EVOKE for 2019, with a three-day music weekender.
Brentwood Festival has been hosting successful music events at The Brentwood Centre for nearly a decade. For 2019, the festival will return to the same venue from the 12th – 14th July, only bigger than ever, as it is rebranded as EVOKE FESTIVAL – a music event set across three days, perfect for the entire family.
Introducing the hottest stars from today and yesteryear, EVOKE FESTIVAL will have an act to suit every music lovers taste. Whether you want to return to the 80s, or indulge in the current chart hits of the 21st century, EVOKE will offer an atmosphere of nostalgia alongside the opportunity to make new lifelong memories.
We can now officially reveal a taste of the EVOKE Festival line-up, which will feature the likes of CLEAN BANDIT, JESSIE J and Paul Young with further announcements to follow.
Headlining on Sunday 14th July, Clean Bandit have consistently pushed the boundaries of modern pop with their diverse blend of electronic, dancehall, classical, R&B and pop. Their breakthrough success came in 2014 with the single ‘Rather Be’, feat. Jess Glynne, a Grammy award-winning worldwide hit that has now surpassed 10 million global sales. With their last single ‘I Miss You’ feat. Julia Michaels hitting the top five, the band have now notched up 9 UK top five singles.
Jessie J – multiplatinum-selling artist who bought us hits like ‘Price Tag’, ‘Domino’ and ‘Bang Bang’ who was also a judge alongside WILL.I.AM and Tom Jones on the The Voice and won the prestigious Critics’ Choice prize at the BRIT Awards – returned in 2018 with album R.O.S.E. Showcasing new material alongside her international selling hits, Jessie J will headline the event on Saturday 13th July.
Paul Young is performing on the opening night, Friday 12th July. With a career that spans over 40 years, Paul’s hits include 1983 no.1 ‘Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home)’ plus top ten hits from the same decade including ‘Come Back And Stay’, ‘Love Of The Common People’, ‘Everything Must Change’ and ‘Every Time You Go Away’.
Evoke Festival Director Jason Jopson said of the new look event “The Brentwood Festival journey so far has been nothing short of amazing. Starting at the White Horse Pub with a few bands performing on pallets, to the Brentwood Centre listening to some of our childhood idols, we’ve enjoyed every second of it.
In the interest of the future of the festival, I’ve teamed up with some new partners who will bring with them more incredible acts to keep our loyal attendees entertained all weekend, and ensure the festival you know and love just keeps on growing from strength to strength.”
The festival will take place at the Brentwood Centre over the weekend of, 12th, 13th and 14th July. For more information, or to book tickets for the event, visit www.evokefestival.com
